Dvigrad is an abandoned medieval town, situated 23 kilometres from Rovinj, standing high over the Bay of Lim. Today remains of the city are gates, defence walls and towers, the main square on the stone and the ruins of the Church of St. Sophia.

It this, over a 100 years old, institution, located at the Ruđer Boskovic Institute's Centre for Maritime Research (Obala G. Paliage 5),  visitors can see all the wealth of the colorful underwater world of the Adriatic sea. During the summer months the Aquarium is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The castle on the island of St. Andrija was originally a Benedictine Monastery established in the sixth century AD. It was refurbished at the end of the nineteenth century by Baron Hutterodt. The castle has now been converterd into a hotel.

It is the oldest relic, situated in the Lokva Square. The baptismal font of the Holy Spirit has been constructed in a heptagonal shape. The thirteenth century Romanesque church is interesting because of the detailed carvings of the transenna depicting scenes of Golgotha.

This interesting building, contains a fascinating museum of sacral artifacts and a rich library. The monastery and the church were built at the beginning of the 18th century. Created entirely in the Baroque style.

Church of Saint Euphemia was built in the eighteenth century, while its faqade in Venetian-baroque style was added in the middle of the last century. The copper statue of St. Euphemia stands at the top of the sixty-metre-high bell tower, which shows the direction of the wind by turning on a spindle.

The old town had seven gates, while the Saint Benedict Gate, the Portico and the Holy Cross Gate exist today. A baroque archway called "Balbijev luk",  was built on the site of the former outer gate in the seventeenth century, today serves as the entrance into the old town. By the seventh century AD, Rovinj was surrounded by town walls, and later strengthened by the construction of towers.

Portals, terraces, steps, balconies, yards, streets and alleys make this city astounding. The town itself was declared a cultural monument in 1963.

Hotel Valdaliso Rovinj is situated on a green peninsula, a four kilometers of scenic ancient centre of Rovinj. On a kilometer long, private gravelly and rocky beach you can relax and enjoy swimming in the crystal clear sea.
